This chair is conceived as a strategic cooperation platform aimed at strengthening South-South and South-Europe relations, promoting interdisciplinary academic dialogues, exchanges with African and Indian institutions, and institutional outreach in global linguistic and cultural studies.
Functioning as a space for dialogue and cooperation between the Global South and Southern Europe, this Chair is guided by six overarching —yet non-exclusive— objectives that delineate its core areas of activity and inform its strategic direction.

Promotion of the indigenous languages and cultural heritage of the African continent and the Indian context
Collaboration in the development of teaching and learning materials in historically marginalized indigenous languages
Organization of seminars, workshops, and/or specialized courses on languages, cultures, and other interdisciplinary approaches in fields such as linguistics, demography, social psychology, and other related areas.
Organization and coordination of African Languages Day, an annual event dedicated to a different African country in each edition.
Leading and/or collaborating in research initiatives in the fields of philology, science, and interdisciplinary studies.
Fostering collaboration between researchers in Africa and India and the University of Salamanca.
